Nations & Cities: Discerning Spirits Log for Intercession

In the summer of 2024, the Lord spoke to me one night while deep in prayer that He was going to take me many places and show me spirits in all of these places, so I could intercede and pray against these spirits. This began later that year and has continued. This blog post is a guide for how to pray over certain areas, and it serves as a log for spirits I’ve discerned while traveling.

This blog will get updated following every trip. Please pray over the areas the Holy Spirit highlights to you.

October 2024: Washington D.C.

In October of 2024, I traveled to Washington D.C. for the A Million Women event on the mall. I was there for several days, and in my time there, I discerned two spirits in D.C.:

• Spirit of suicide
• Spirit of depression

May, 2025: Palm Springs, CA & Joshua Tree, CA (State of California)

While on a week-long personal vacation at a vacation home in the middle of the desert, the Lord showed me a principality (government of spirits) over the state of California. One morning when I woke up, the song ‘Black Hole Sun’ was just repetitively in my head, and I knew the Lord was speaking.

Black Hole Sun is the song the Lord used to expose to me the spiritual government and principality that is over the state of California. Here are some of the spirits he showed me within the principality:

• Spirit of homosexuality
• Spirit of deception (people hiding who they really are)
• Spirit of occultism; the occult (Witchcraft, astrology, tarot, ungodly healing modalities, yoga, new age spirituality, etc.)

November 2025: Chicago, Illinois

In November of 2025, I traveled to Chicago for a winter vacation. While there, the Holy Spirit showed me the following spirits over the Chicago area and the greater state of Illinois:

• Spirit of rebellion
• Spirit of homosexuality
• Spirit of lethargy

January 2025: North Korea

No, I’ve never been to North Korea. Not many Americans ever have and in fact, they have banned Americans from entering their country many times over the years. But the Lord has shown me the principality over North Korea and the spirits within this principality we need to be praying against:

• Spirit of blindness – did you know that this nation has a curse of blindness? Over half of the entire country needs eye surgery or glasses. And the ones who have had eye surgeries (from American doctors who were allowed to go there and perform them), cry out and thank THEIR LEADER when they can see. They literally worship their dictator. What a TELLING prophetic sign of the very principality that rules over them – spiritual blindness. Lord, we pray against physical and spiritual blindness in Jesus’ precious name.
• Spirit of idolatry – This is obvious. The Kim dynasty and bloodline rules North Korea with an iron & idolatrous fist that is unmatched anywhere else in the world. Before the Lord returns, something will have to shake this nation so they hear the gospel. He will not return until it’s so. Until ALL have heard (Matthew 24:14)
• Spirit of oppression – This nation is full of poverty, hunger, and oppression. I probably couldn’t even fly into North Korea for how heavy the oppression would feel to me. I pray for God to deliver the North Koreans in Jesus’ name.
